The ICM Institute is now a co-producer of Turner MIINT!
Read Press ReleaseThe ICM Institute, in partnership with the Wharton Impact, Value, and Sustainable Business Initiative (“Wharton Impact”), is proud to co-produce the Turner MBA Impact Investing Network and Training (Turner MIINT) program—a global experiential learning platform that equips graduate students with the tools to become effective impact investors.
Through a year-long, hands-on curriculum, students learn to “think like an impact investor” as they source, evaluate, and conduct due diligence on early-stage companies that combine strong business models with measurable social or environmental impact.
The program equips the next generation of impact investing talent with practical skills in investment analysis, impact measurement, and valuation, culminating in a global competition judged by leading industry experts
Since its founding, more than 5,500 students across 35+ global graduate schools have participated in the Turner MIINT program. Alumni of the program now work at top impact firms, foundations, and family offices—including ICM member funds—underscoring how vital this program is to building a robust pipeline of talent for mission-driven capital providers.
Program Components
The Competition
Graduate students form teams at their schools to source and evaluate early-stage impact investment opportunities. Guided by Turner MIINT curriculum, teams gain hands-on experience in due diligence, developing plans, and refining pitches. At the program’s conclusion, teams present to the Turner MIINT Investment Committee—comprised of leading impact investors and venture capital professionals—for the chance to secure up to $50,000 for their company. This mirrors real-world decision-making and prepares students for careers in impact finance.
The Curriculum
All participants complete Turner MIINT's online impact investing course, which blends theory with applied learning. Through interactive modules covering topics such as investment thesis development, sourcing deals, assessing market opportunities, and evaluating both financial and impact potential, students build practical, industry-relevant skills. The curriculum also includes case studies, tools, and frameworks used by leading practitioners, giving participants a strong foundation to navigate the impact investing landscape.
The Community
Turner MIINT connects students to a global network of peers, practitioners, and industry experts. Participants engage in online discussions, one-on-one advisory sessions, and network-wide calls, creating lasting professional connections. Additional opportunities—such as career treks, exclusive presentations, and in-person events—offer direct access to industry leaders and hiring managers. By joining the Turner MIINT community, students gain a lifelong network committed to advancing both financial performance and measurable impact.
“It has been so rewarding to see the growth of the Turner MIINT into the premier experiential educational program for impact investing in the world. There remains strong demand from the next generation of impact investors and the ICM Institute is well-positioned to build a talent pipeline for the industry for years to come.”
