ICM Impact LP
Intelligence

A working roster of impact-focused limited partners — development finance institutions, foundations, family offices, and institutional advisors — for GP members raising capital. Some of this is public record. The more useful part is what our staff actually knows from calls, events, and relationships with these firms — and that part only gets better if members chip in. If you know something about an LP here, or one that's missing, let us know, even off the record.

Factual layer
Live
Type, geography, sector focus, and what's publicly documented about each firm.
Behavioral layer
Partially started
A handful of entries now have check size or diligence timelines, straight from LPs who spoke on our panels. The harder part — what GPs actually think of an LP to work with — needs a real submission process before we can build it out.

2025 Allocator Survey · Aggregate, Not Attributed
What Allocators Are Actually Saying
~40–45 allocators responded to ICM's 2025 survey anonymously — individual answers aren't linked to names, so nothing below is tied to a specific firm. Treat this as market context for the profiles below it, not as anyone's individual position. Read the full report →
Where the money's gone (12–18 mos)

64% of respondents (n=42) over-allocated to private equity, 64% to venture capital, 40% to real assets, and just 29% to private debt.

Where the gaps are

Private debt is the most commonly cited #1 gap in allocators' portfolios — they feel underexposed there. Venture is the least commonly cited gap, consistent with how much has already gone into it.

What kills a deal

Recurring themes: a vague or unconvincing impact thesis, a team without real domain depth, below-market returns, no track record, subscale funds, weak operational infrastructure, and anything that reads as greenwashing or overpromised impact.

2025 priorities

Climate remains dominant but is getting more specific (energy transition, climate tech, sustainable infrastructure). Affordable/workforce housing and healthcare come up often. Secondaries and co-investments were named specifically as a priority by more than one respondent.

What's worrying them

The fundraising environment and slow exits/DPI dominate, closely followed by US policy risk — IRA/IIJA funding uncertainty, anti-DEI/ESG rollback, tariffs.

What's exciting them

A harder capital environment is forcing real discipline — more than one respondent framed it as a shift from "impact as compliance" to "impact as alpha." Also cited: a wave of new Fund II/III raises after 2023's hard market, and better impact reporting quality.

On SFDR, verification, impact-linked carry

Broadly positive, not uncritical. Third-party verification (BlueMark named specifically) is valued but some worry it becomes a rubber stamp. Impact-linked carry is appealing in theory, hard to implement well. SFDR Article 8/9 is called "hygiene" by more than one respondent — useful mostly for funds with European LPs, not a universal requirement.

Policy watch

By far the most-cited theme: uncertainty tied to the new US administration — IRA/IIJA rollback, anti-DEI/ESG sentiment, tariffs. EU SFDR and the SEC climate disclosure rule also came up repeatedly.

DFIDevelopment Finance Institutions

Government-backed or multilateral institutions with a formal development mandate. These are the most transparent group here — well-capitalized, mandate-driven, and easy to verify.

Process

Process

No firms match that search. Try a different name, contact, or keyword — or check the filters above aren't excluding it.
How to use this: The Foundations here fund ICM's own work — that's a separate fact from whether they invest in member funds, so check both before an outreach goes out. Key Contact fields are name and title only. The gold "LP Advisory Council" badge marks the people who sit on ICM's actual Council, per our own site. Everything here is current as of mid-2026, built from public sources and ICM's own relationships.
