Divya Walia, 2022-2023 Research Fellow

Divya Walia is a 2024 MBA-MIA dual degree candidate at Columbia University Business School and SIPA (School of International and Public Affairs), focusing on International Economic Policy.

Divya has served as a Research Fellow with ICM since January 2022, overseeing the production of the upcoming report titled "Alpha in Impact: Strengthening Outcomes," scheduled for publication in May 2023. In partnership with ICM and Morrison & Foerster, her goal has been to create a valuable resource for understanding impact as a driver of financial return for current and future impact investors. Divya has been involved in all aspects of the report, including designing and executing the research methodology, drafting, and aligning key stakeholders around the final product's design.

Prior to graduate school, Divya worked as an investment analyst at Goldman Sachs, advising ultra high net worth families and institutions. She has also worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she assisted with the Bank’s supervisory and policy functions. Apart from her professional work, Divya is passionate about increasing global access to education for underserved communities. She has been actively involved in this cause as a lifelong fundraiser for the educational non-profit Pratham USA and a mentor volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters NYC. Divya graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Washington University in St. Louis with a BA in Economics in 2018.

Divya looks forward to using her education and experience to support ICM and its member funds and make meaningful contributions to the fields of impact investing and international economic development.
