Claudia Christine Ortiz is a first-generation Latina and MBA candidate at One League, where she also serves as the Venture & Career Officer. A proud South Los Angeles native, Claudia’s path into venture capital is rooted in a lifelong commitment to advancing economic mobility in historically underserved communities. After graduating from UCLA, she joined an institutionally backed executive coaching startup as an operator, where she led cross-functional initiatives that drove a 497% increase in revenue within one year.
Her success in operations launched her into the startup and small business ecosystem as the founder of Chris Consulting, where she has provided strategic advising, curriculum design, and capacity-building support to over 250 entrepreneurs through incubator programs and technical workshops. Claudia has since deepened her investing expertise through fellowships with Somos VC and Inicio Ventures, and currently serves as a Deal Team Consultant at Ascendo Venture Capital, where she helps source and evaluate early-stage companies led by founders from emerging markets.
In addition to her investing work, Claudia leads sponsorship and partnership initiatives at LaFamilia Foundation, a nonprofit focused on advancing Latine entrepreneurship. Beyond her professional pursuits, she enjoys discovering new coffee shops across Los Angeles, traveling, and mentoring the next generation of Latine founders. Her long-term vision is to deploy capital that is relationship-first, community-rooted, and equity-driven—redefining what the future of venture capital looks like.
